New Delhi: East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) on Tuesday received anticipatory approval from the mayor to implement new guidelines for running a spa center in the regions.
“Draft proposal with detailed guidelines, which mainly focuses on restrictions on cross-gender massage in spa centers, previously verified by the Delhi Government Legal Department and approved by LG.
Now we have managed to get anticipatory approval from the mayor, the implementation process can begin with the direct effect , “said an Edmc senior official.
He added that the eastern corporation will now be started to present a copy of the guideline to all spa centers.
“We will ask them to follow the norms tightly.
After waiting for a certain time, we can take action against absent from being absent.
This guideline is on the policy path that is notified in Goa and Tamil Nadu to run the spa center,” the official said.
The development took place as the Delhi government, in response to petitions that challenged new guidelines that banned cross-gender massage at the spa, to Delhi High Court on Tuesday that this had not been told and was not enforced at this time.
Government advisers added that until September 20, existing guidelines were enforced to issue a license.
Major Edmc Shyam Sundar Agarwal said that he had given anticipatory approval for new proposals and rules to apply to all spa centers.
According to new guidelines, cross-gender massage will not be allowed at the spa center and facilities will not be provided behind closed doors.
The rooms in the spa center will not have hooks and bolts in the door and will be equipped with automatic doors.
Furthermore, external doors must also be open during working hours.
“The spa center can now remain open between 9am and 9pm,” said Mayor.
