Panaji: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant has directed the government department to “adopt” a village of each in pursuing the Swayampurna Goa mission, and said that every head of the department must visit their village at least once a week.
Sawant met with the working group empowered formed for Swayampurna Goa mission, and reviewed the achievement of individual stakeholders.
The minister’s chairman said that the department, after adopting the village, had to implement a government scheme in the village.
He said that officials had to go to people and not vice versa.
During the meeting, Sawant quoted a case of how ordinary people were not aware of the schemes of various departments.
He also said that there must be appropriate funds, and emphasize the need for a time-bound action plan.
He also said that publicity for missions must be carried out throughout the state, and emphasized the need to regulate the Sabha Gram specifically in the forest area.
The minister’s chairman asked for each department to appoint a nodal officer for Sway Synchalanta Goa because of the magnitude of work, inter-departmental links and for the smooth functioning of the project.
“Collective awareness is the power of the main increase for independence,” he said.
It was also decided that there was a need to compile important data on Goa on geographical resources, demographics, water resources, forest resources, agriculture products, horticulture products, livestock, fisheries, tourism industries, transportation and other economic indicators.
Under Swayampurna Goa, Panchayats and the municipality should get funds under the 15th Finance Commission and under funds allocated for the 60th celebration of Goa Liberation.
Country, through a scheme, wants to ensure 100% coverage of water and electrical connections to people.
The government has associated in the Ministry of Agriculture to increase the production of vegetables and agriculture so that the state does not have to depend on other states for food.
Sawant has announced the Swayampurna Goa Program last October.
