Nagpur: In 2016, Sunita Dubey has a knot in her right breast.
For two months, Dubey, then 52, continuing to postpone a visit to the doctor with the assumption to boil regularly.
Mammography reveals Dubey, postgraduate art, suffering from breast cancer.
In April this year, Dr.
Harsha, who was 48 years old (the name changed) went for regular screening and found her breasts in the early stages.
Medical and surgical oncology says two cases emphasize the importance of regular filtering by all women after the age of 40 and the breast playback after the age of 21 years.
They say every year, 90,000 women die from lack of breast cancer awareness, rejection and reporting late even though this disease can be cured if it is detected early.
The patients came from all socio-economic backgrounds.
Dubey took social work to spread awareness about killer diseases and also advised patients and relatives.
Dr.
Harsha has completed her therapy and is on the recovery path in just five months.
When October was celebrated as a month of world breast cancer awareness, a survivored meeting was organized by Kingsway Hospital on Sunday.
There are more than 50 participants with some of them telling their trauma and how they overcome the challenges.
Medical oncologist consultant Dr.
Samiksha Dubey said myths such as “even a puncture needle in the breast will spread cancer” still there.
“In addition to the late reporting, the patient will not come in the start of treatment.
It shifts the disease to the next stage while early care accommodates the key in congratulating breast cancer,” he said.
Surgical oncologist consultant Dr.
Nitin Bomanwar said about 50% to 60% of patients reported at the advanced stage of breast cancer.
“Care has evolved and now depends on the patient to the patient.
If the MRM (the elimination of the entire breast) is preferred in some cases, the operation of breast preservation is also being carried out to ensure that the woman is not psychological injured,” he said.
Drician Treatment Dr.
Mona Rai, Pain and Palsiatif, said Periati played the most important role in the treatment of survivors and those who had gloomy survival opportunities.
“While fighting with disease, women also face questions like who will take care of their children.
Such thoughts make suffering there worse,” he said.
Dr.
Saurabh Prasad, an oncologist consultant, said the use of gadgets such as the Chemo port minimizes side effects as seen in routine chemotherapy.
“New drugs and patient-specific treatments called targeted therapies available and breast cancer patients must use it,” he said.
