“Comprehensive policies are likely to be out based on Indian epidemiology and the situation of the pandemic in the country and are not based on other countries.
Meeting must be held in the next two weeks,” said a member of the Task Force on developments.
He said even when the policy was being purchased, encouragement would, however, accelerate and complete an adult vaccination program.
The focus is to ensure that at least all adult beneficiaries are given the first dose on December 31.

“We should not distract from existing policies and programmed actions to ensure that all adult populations get vaccine doses in the form of intramuscular injection,” he said.
He also said that the discussion of policies and programs around the third dose would take advantage of scientific evidence.
“These discussions should not attract our attention from the vaccination of two doses (programs), as we currently have not yet reached 80% coverage with vaccination doses,” he said.
ICMR scientists repeated that the ongoing two-dose vaccination program in this country has demonstrated efficacy in the form of reducing the severity of the disease, and the possibility of death after the acquisition of SARS-COV-2 infection.
“Discussions around the third dose are related to those who, because immunosuppression conditions, cannot install immunity.
