BHUBANESWAR: The Ancient Warning Dissemination System (EWDS) or even cyclone siren system found in five coastal regions is alerting villagers regarding the impending really severe cyclone Yaas that is very likely to lead to large scale damage. Odisha State Disaster Mitigation Authority (OSDMA), that regulates the sirens, was using it to alarm folks about the impending tragedy. OSDMA executive manager Kamal Lochan Mishra, stated,”The cyclone siren program was working in five coastal areas in which cyclone Yaas will have a significant effects. The sirens are blowing off at fixed intervals in 1.5 km distance from the coast and also to make sure the previous person living close to the sea is educated regarding the approaching cyclone.
