Chennai: The lightweight tremor was felt in several parts of Chennai on Tuesday afternoon after the earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 crashed into Bengal Bay.

According to the National Seismology Institute, the earthquake was reported at 12.35 a night at Bengal Bay at a depth of 10 km around 296km southeast Kakinada and 312km southeast of Rajamundry at Andhra Pradesh.
