New Delhi: After the response to push for a scheme for plastic garbage collection and household electronics and industrial areas, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has completed private contractors for safe collections, transportation and disposal of scrap, including metal discarded, old vehicles and goods -ironware.
A public notification has been uploaded on the EDMC website informing people about initiative.
Price details for different materials, the contact number and the time needed for collecting items will be given within a week after the final agreement is signed, an official said.
This body has also been given the task of integrating unorganized sectors in this chain.
“Many industrial and industrial sectors produce large volumes of memos but are still not under the scope of regulations for material science disposal.
Therefore, it is very important to create a system for chain management and integrate various stakeholders.
Now we have appointed the contractor, the next step is to involve memo collectors in the process so that no ingredients are treated in an unscientific manner, “said a senior official.

This initiative aims to motivate citizens and owners in the commercial area to contribute the EDMC efforts to recycle waste in an environmentally friendly way, rather than selling it to a local memo dealer, the official said.
“In addition to collecting memos from residential, commercial, institutional and industrial areas under EDMC in time-tied, HPH will also ensure recycling and disposal according to the rules of waste management,” the official added.
Empaneled institutions are allowed to operate for a period of three years after paying a fixed monthly royalty for the civil body.
“They will be responsible for developing collection centers and attracting vehicles for transportation.
The EDMC will act as a facilitator, “the official said.
Demand for non-renewable natural resources such as metals and minerals grows throughout the sector, so imperative for reuse and their recycle, according to civil bodies.
“We, therefore, adopt initiatives that focus on reducing waste and skrap management in accordance with rules and regulations,” officials said.
