Chandigarh: The Indian Election Election Commission (ECI) has identified constituencies that are vulnerable to intimidation in Punjab.
The Commission has identified Pathankot, Dera Baba Nanak, Majitha, Amritsar (Middle), Amritsar (East), Chambiur Sahib, Sahnewal, Ludhiana (South), Gill, Lambi, Gidderbaha, Rampura Phul, Maur, Sunam and sanaur as a sensitive area.
In addition, areas that are susceptible to illegal distillation have also been identified which include Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Bet Ludhiana and Jalandhar regions.
The term State Assembly in Punjab will end on March 27, 2022.
Elections are scheduled for 117 constituencies (83 General, 34 SC) in the state.
