EC identifies vulnerable spots in Punjab

Chandigarh: The Indian Election Election Commission (ECI) has identified constituencies that are vulnerable to intimidation in Punjab.
The Commission has identified Pathankot, Dera Baba Nanak, Majitha, Amritsar (Middle), Amritsar (East), Chambiur Sahib, Sahnewal, Ludhiana (South), Gill, Lambi, Gidderbaha, Rampura Phul, Maur, Sunam and sanaur as a sensitive area.
In addition, areas that are susceptible to illegal distillation have also been identified which include Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Bet Ludhiana and Jalandhar regions.
The term State Assembly in Punjab will end on March 27, 2022.
Elections are scheduled for 117 constituencies (83 General, 34 SC) in the state.
The accumulation of liquor, drugs and cash that is not achieved and smuggling drugs through drones has been registered as the biggest challenge in front of the poll.
To ensure that there are no political parties that affect voters, the Commission has convinced to present a large number of central armed police forces (CAPFS) and experienced observers to oversee free and fair selection behavior in the state.
The commission reviewed the concerns quoted by political parties about the legal and order situation with district judges and police officers.
The relevant official has been directed at ensuring a quick execution of the NBWS warrants (NBWS) and fast disposal of the cases of delayed elections from the last election.
165 All-Women Boothsas part of the commission initiative to provide a convenient experience for female voters, at least 165 voting stations managed by all women will be arranged in a country that will have all female voting staff, including women’s security personnel.
As a measure of increasing the confidence of people with disability voters at least 56 voting stations will be established in the state to be managed exclusively by persons with disabilities.
The steps for Covid-19ending in the view of Covid-19 social norms, the Commission has reduced the maximum number of voter norms at a voting station from 1,500 to 1,200.
All cubicles in the state will be provided with masks, sanitisers, gloves and PPE kits.
All voters will be screened on the entry and there will be a separate entrance gate and a special team will be placed at the booth to enforce the guidelines.
Special settings that allow patients infected with Covid to choose from home will be carried out.
Cross 1CR-Markunjab women’s voters have added 2.74 new voters in the revised elector roll.
The state has also recorded an increase in the gender ratio of voters from the previous election with women’s voters who crossed one crore-mark for the first time.
