Gurgaon: The State Election Commission and the State Government have given approval to conduct Corporate Bypoll in Ward 34 cities, which consist of mostly DLF regions and golf paths.
The chair fell empty in May this year after the death of the RATEE RS board member.
The State Election Commission (SEC) has written to Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg to coordinate with the Head of MCG Mukesh Kumar Ahuja and prepare the schedule of polls and collect election material from the commission office.
Garg told TII that according to the instructions of the Election Commission, the district government would make the settings needed for the election.
“Also, Ahuja has been directed to send his staff to the office of the State Election Commission in Panchkula to collect election materials,” he added.
The source says the selection of by-election will be made within a month.
Rathee Rama Rani Rathee’s wife, who is also a member of the council from Ward 34 from 2011 to 2017, is likely to compete in the selection of by-election.
Rathee, who became a board member in 2017 defeated two candidates supported by BJP.
During his ten and half-year term, Rathee can resolve some old problems associated with the re-coating all the main roads and boundary walls on DLF 1 and 2, the limit wall 2 km on Jalan Pahadi to protect the arabacal and develop two green belts along Jalan Gurgaon-Faridabad, a problem with water supply in Maruti Vihar and Saraswati Vihar.
