Economist Kaushik Basu received a Humboldt award

The Humboldt Research award for the economy for the year 2021 was awarded economist Dr.
Kaushik Basu by Dr.
Hans-Bernd Schafer from Bucerius Law School in Hamburg Germany on Tuesday.
The announcement was made last month by Cornell Chronicle.
Sponsored by Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation based in Bonn, Germany, Humboldt Research Award recognizes excellence through the entire career and offers opportunities for research collaboration.
Basu is an economic professor at Cornell University and Carl Marks Professor International Studies at the College of Arts and Sciences and SC Johnson College of Business.
He was the Chief of the World Bank economist from 2012 to 2016, and the Head of the Economic Advisor to the Government of India from 2009 to 2012.
He currently serves as President of the International Economic Association (from 2017 to 2021).
Basu is also a recipient of Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in India.
He has been widely publicized in the economic development, game, law and economic, and industrial organizations.
His last book is a republic of belief: a new approach to law and economics (Princeton University Press, 2018).
In July this year, Simon and Schuster will publish a diary from his policy years, a policy maker journal: New Delhi to Washington DC.
The Humboldt Research Award winner was invited to carry out the projects of their choice in collaboration with specialist colleagues in Germany.
Basu said that he planned to use this award to conduct research on moral philosophy and game theory, and in law and economy.
