Economy Ex-Prof K Shanker Bhat died at 89

Mangaluru: Hanguar Shanker Bhat, Former Professor and Head of the Ministry of Economics, St.
Aloysius College died at his residence on Thursday, following a short disease.
He is 89 years old.
When he dedicated his body to science, his family contributed his mortal to KS Hegde Medical Academy (Kshema), Derlakatte.
He was recently hospitalized for about two weeks because of Covid infection and was sent home after taking a total recovery.
However, his health began to decline in the past four days and then died.
He survived his wife and four of his children.
Born in Baipadavu, Kabaka Village, Puburur Taluk, Bhat conducted elementary school in Gadiyaara Shaale in Kedila Village and secondary education at the High School Board, Putture.
He did his Ba in St.
Aloysius College and finished MA at Rani Parvathi Devi College, Belgaum in 1956.
After studying B.ED, he began teaching at St.
Aloysius College in 1958 in the Ministry of Economics and History.
He retired as head, the Ministry of Economy in 1991.
During his term at St.
Aloysius College, he also served as NCC officers for around 15 years.
