Greater Noida: Supertech EcoVillage 1 was fined Rs 4 lakh on Monday due to the lack of mass waste management in the housing community.
Previously in August, a fine of RS 2 Lakh was collected at the Ecovillage for violating solid waste management rules.
Legal actions will begin if the housing community fails to deposit a fine in three working days, officials said.
While Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (Gnida) has implemented the rules of solid waste management in 2016, has begun to impose a variety of residential, industrial, commercial and institutional generators for violations since August this year.
Salil Yadav, responsible for the Gnida Public Health Department, said, “We carry out sustainable actions against the community and institutions because they do not carry out their right mass waste management.
In this case, on Monday, we enforce a fine of RS 4.03 Lakh on Ecovillage 1 Society Located in Sector 1 West Greater Noida due to lack of their mass waste management.
“” RS 2.01 Lakh RS is applied not to be trash in August to Supertech Ecovillage 1.
Next, instructions are given to community management to dispose of waste quickly.
On the 31st October, our team again examined the community but did not find an increase.
Waste found thrown everywhere.
As a result, the team doubled this fine, “he added.
Under the rules of solid waste management, 2016, bulk waste generators, such as large societies, educational institutions and commercial units must dispose of their own garbage.
Authority only takes inert waste that cannot be recycled.
For this reason, the specified cost must be paid.
In October, the fine of RS 4 Lakh was implemented in Ansal Plaza and Omaxe Mall due to a lack of waste management.
Similarly, RS 52,500 was slapped on Chinese Vivo smartphone makers for non-disposal of mass waste generation in the larger noida plant in September.
In August, the total penalty of RS 5 Lakh was applied to 10 housing communities for similar violations.
