Patna: With 352 Covid-19 cases active among East Central Railway (ECR) employees, General Manager Zone (GM), Anupam Sharma, reviewed the readiness of the hospital on Wednesday to deal with Omicron variants effectively.
He assessed the availability of drugs and directed the medical supervisor to make arrangements for the procurement of all the equipment needed to fight the virus.
GM also discusses the availability of ventilators, oxygen concentrators, PPE kits, masks, and sanitisers, and current situations of the environment used to treat children who have been infected with new variants.
He directed all train hospitals to contact officials from the State Health Department and requested assistance in treating Covid-19 patients.
According to the Head of the Public Relations (CPRO) ECR, Rajesh Kumar, the train has issued a high-level warning to doctors in Danapur, Sonpur, Samastipur, PT Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, and Dinhanbad Division.
It has directed that doctors, nursing staff, and paramedic staff remain on duty 24 hours a day to deal with any emergency situation.
“The train has arranged a total of 228 beds for Covid-19 patients at Danapur Hospital in Khagaul, where 34 is in an intensive care unit.
This has appointed the Danapur Train Hospital Division as a dedicated Covid Hospital,” CPRO said to This reporter on Wednesday added that the new oxygen plant was recently installed in the hospital and made operations to meet the patient’s needs.
In addition, the train has launched a large-scale awareness campaign in Patna Junction and other solid stations about the importance of following social blasphemy norms and firmly complies with the safety protocol on the platform and on the train.
Thermal playback and Covid testing are taking place at several stations, with coordination of RPF and GRP personnel.
According to sources, 78,000 of 80,000 ECR employees have received a second dose of Covid vaccines, and encouragement to autoculate 100% of staff, including frontline workers such as Pilot Loco, Master of Stations, Guards, and Paramedics in each division, continuing.
As reported earlier, at all 5,331 ECR employees were infected with Covid during the second wave of last year, with 227 of them surrendered to the virus.
