Mumbai: The day after the Supreme Court rejected assistance to former Minister of State House Anil Deshmukh in the case of money laundering, the enforcement directorate (ED) issued a fifth call letter, asking for him and his son Hrishikesh appeared on Wednesday.
If they fail, Ed is likely to approach the court asking for a warrant that is not up to them.
Previously, Deshmukh released a video message, said he would appear before Ed was so SC decided on his request.
People who are close to him say SC has refused temporary assistance, but Writ Deshmukh raised the constitutional challenges to certain provisions of the PMLA law and the strength of Ed still delayed in front of the court.
Ed has been looking for Deshmukh and Hrishikesh, but they keep going forward because the agency starts looking for their place in several cities.
Deshmukh’s two assistants were arrested.
“Ed hoped DeShmukh to explain the detail of suspicious transactions into the story of his education trust in Nagpur.
He has been given enough time to appear to be questioned but he has avoided the call.
Ed officials are discussing with legal experts whether they can approach the court to issue NBW against Desehmukh And Hrishikesh if they failed to appear on Wednesday, “said a source in Ed.
On Monday, SC refused to provide protection while Deshmukh from the arrest in the case of money laundering, which followed from the bribery case, and said he had to approach the forum that was suitable for relief.
Affidavit Ed said the Deshmukh family and close colleagues were involved in “money laundering by creating complex corporate structure networks and their transactions”.
