New Delhi / Hyderabad: Syndicate smugglers have been extracted by the enforcement director where Chinese citizens are found to smuggle human hair from India to China through Myanmar.
Hawala Payment of RS 16 Crore to several Hyderabad-based hair traders has been tracked so far leading to searches in eight places in Hyderabad and West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.
Probe has been launched.
Although human hair exports are legal, the avoidance of legal routes saves 28% hairdrows in customs.
The agency said the racket was excavated while investigating the money laundering case of several Chinese betting applications.
Like ED, domestic traders sell raw hair to foreign traders who smuggle them from India.
After reaching China, this product is labeled as Chinese hair and is processed.
