New Delhi: The residence and office of the social activist Harsh Mander was raided by the Directorate of Enforcement official on Thursday.
Officials said at least three places located in South Delhi – Adchini, Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli – were looking for.
In February this year, the Delhi police economic wing has registered a case against two NGOs run by Harsh Mander for alleged financial irregularities.
The ED case understood based on the FIR submitted in February against the Equity Study Center (CSE) which was run by Mander.
Police Delhi has submitted a case against two NGOs under the adolescent justice (care and protection of children) acting on alleged violations of regulations governing the body.
This case is registered under Section 75 (atrocities against children) and 83 (2) (the use of children in illegal activities) of the Youth Justice Act, while also requesting part 188 (disobedience to order correctly announced by the waiter public) from India.
The Criminal Code concerning Complaints Registrar of the National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection (NCPCR) against alleged violations at Umeed Aman Ghar and Khushi Rainbow Home in South Delhi, both were established by CSE.
The police then said that the case was registered based on inspection by the NCPCR team in October 2020 in these houses.
Mander, a retired IAS Officer, has been actively involved in anti-CAA protests in Delhi.
Mander has written a number of books and regardless of other social activities, he also writes editorial newspapers about subjects relating to social justice and human rights.
