New Delhi / Mumbai: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has summoned the leader of Shiv Sena and Transport Minister Maharashtra Anil Parib to be interrogated in the case of money laundering registered with former Minister of State Anil Deshmukh and others, officials said on Sundays.
Parab, 56, is also the Minister of Parliament in the Government of Most Vikas Aghadi (MVA) led by Head of Minister of Uddhav Thackeray and is a member of the three members of the Maharashtra Legislative Council.
Officials said he had been asked by Ed to Berutus before the case of investigating cases at the agency office in South Mumbai on Tuesday.
They said Puriab had to be questioned in the case of money laundering investigated against the former Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh after “disclosure” had been made by other accusations and those involved in this case.
Reacting to summons, Shiv Sena MP and spokesman Sanjay Raut said Ed notice Ed for Parab was “expected” and the party would fight legally.

The Union and BJP Leader Minister Narayan Rane was recently arrested from Ratnagiri because of his comment that he would “slap” cm Thackeray.
Rane, Bete Noire from Shiv Sena and Thackeray, had made the comment during Jan Ashirwad Yatra.
The latest call was related to the criminal investigation conducted by Ed in the alleged RS 100 Crore Brush-Cum-Extortion Racket at the establishment of Maharashtra police which led to Dishmukh’s resignation in April.
The case of Ed against Deshmukh, who was previously a minister at home in the MVA government, and the others came after the CBI posted him in a corruption case related to allegations at least RS 100 Crore bribery made by former Police Commissioner Mumbai Param Bir Singh.
Deshmukh, who had missed a call calling at least five times until now, said that Singh put on charges against him after he was expelled from the position of Police Commissioner Mumbai.
Ed May asked the Parab about the statement twice recorded from police officers who were imprisoned and accused of others in this matter, Sachin Waze.
Waze was arrested by Nia in the case of SUV recovery which was full of explosives from near the Chairman of the House of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani.
Waze had previously accused the letter he wanted to submit in front of the court that in January 2021, Paraab asked him to look into the investigation of “fraud” contractors listed in Mumbai Civic Body and “Collect” at least Rs 2 Crore from around 50 of these contractors.
Parab then rejected Waze’s claim and said he was ready to face the probe into the accusation.
