New Delhi: The body of an edible oil producer, the sea, said on Monday that its members have decided to reduce the wholesale prices of vegetable oils of RS 3-5 per kg during the festival season providing assistance to consumers.
It is expected to reduce the retail price of oil that can be eaten to a certain extent, which has increased significantly in the past year.
Industrial sources said within a few hours after the decision was announced by the Indian Extractors (Sea) solvent association, a large company had reduced the wholesale prices of vegetable oil.
“We hope other people do it.
It will be our gift for consumers at night.
This will also reduce pressure on the government,” said a source.
“Sea members, even though they are burdened with shares pay high duties, respond to consumer needs, and reduce selling prices.
Our members are also in harmony with the proactive decision of the Government and have decided to reduce the price of oil that can be eaten by RS 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per ton Consider Diwali celebrations, “said the association in a statement.
The source said the reduction in wholesale prices will bring a little help to people considering the price of vegetable oil which has been stable in the last 7-10 days or a small reduction has occurred.
Comparative analysis of data collected by consumer affairs of 167 centers shows that capital prices, which are the most common prices in the entire center, have reduced only in the case of sunflower oil – from RS 180 per year at RS 168 on Monday.
In the case of all other vegetable oils, capital prices almost remained unchanged during this period.
