New Delhi: Guild Editor India (EGI) on Saturday denied the death of Pulitzer’s prize which won a photo of Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui in Afghanistan, said his death was a “irreplaceable loss” for journalism.
Siddiqui, in the early 40s, was killed in Afghanistan on Friday while covering the battle between Afghan and Taliban forces.
“Egi rebuked the death of Photojurnalia Pulitzer prize winner on July 16 in Afghanistan, while he covered the clashes between Afghan security forces and the Taliban near the border of cross with Pakistan,” Guild said in a statement.

At the same time, the Guild said it was “very disturbed by a ferocious racist campaign and was very regrettable” ran against him by several parts of social media.
