Edmc Anti-Dengue Campaign to Start From Monday: Officials

New Delhi: The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has intensified its encouragement to fight dengue fever, and a new awareness campaign through radio stations will be moved from Monday, officials said.
More than 480 cases of dengue fever have been reported in the national capital this season, including more than 140 October, according to data shared by civil bodies.
More than 80 cases of dengue fever, 20 malaria and two chikungunya have logged in in areas that fall under the Jurisdiction of EDMC.
“We have intensified the anti-drive drive with us because a large number of cases are being recorded because of excessive rain this year.
Radio campaigns are ready.
This will bring a message of preventive measures to be taken to the house to ward off any possibility of breeding mosquito larvae at home,” said Major Delhi East Sundarwal to PTI.
In addition, the staff check-guy of our dengue breeding (DBC) will leave home to home to examine every breeding of dengue mosquitoes to prevent the spread, he said, and claiming that the staff had visited nearly 40 lakh households to date.
Dengue Mosquito larvae breed in clear water and stand, while malaria develops even in dirty water.
Cases of diseases transmitted through vectors are usually reported between July and November, but the period can stretch until mid-December.
A senior official said the message in the Mayor’s voice on the preventive measures to be taken at home has been recorded, and EDMC has partnered with several private radio stations that will play it to raise awareness.
“The radio campaign is ready, and it will be launched tomorrow.
People will hear messages on good air waves from tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,” he said.
Aggarwal said as part of the intensive encouragement of EDMC to fight dengue fever, fogging and disinfection exercises have been carried out at various police stations.
Of the total cases of dengue fever in Delhi this year, almost 140 has been reported this month until October 9.
However, there were no deaths reported because of dengue fever in this city until now.
In September this season, 217 cases were recorded in the city, the highest for this month in the last three years.
Last year, 188 cases of dengue fever were reported in September, and 190 in 2019.
In the previous year, the appropriate figures were 374 (2018), 1,103 (2017), 1,362 (2016) and 6,775 (2015), according to data which was distributed by Delhi the Ministry of Health on September 22.
The moon-wise distribution of the Dengue case reported this year – January (0), February (2), March (5), April (10) and May (7), July (7), July (16) and August (72) .
According to Civic reports on transmitted diseases through vectors released on Monday, a total of 480 cases of dengue have been recorded this season until October 9, which is the highest since 2018 for the same period.
The number of cases reported for the period 1 October 9 October in the previous three years was – 316 (2020), 467 (2019) and 830 (2018), according to the report.
A total of 1,072 cases and one death were recorded throughout the year by 2020, according to reports released by the South Delhi Municipal corporation, the Nodal Agency to sow data on a disease transmitted through vectors in the city.
According to Civic reports, 127 cases of malaria and 62 Chikungunya cases have also been reported until 9 October this year in Delhi.
In previous years, the total dengue case recorded in the city was – 4431 (2016), 4726 (2017), 2798 (2018), 2036 (2019) and 1072 (2020), according to the report.
