Madurai: As part of the development of adichanallur as an iconic site, the construction of museums in place and / or interpretation center to help visitors understand the nature of the sites and its features in depth is being proposed in consultation with the Government of Tamil Nadu, Minister of Union Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy.
He said this in response to unmailed questions raised by Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi struggling in parliament on Monday.
Kanimozhi asks if the government has begun to develop the iconic site project and museum on the site in Adichanallur as announced in a budget of 2020-21.
The minister said that the exposition and excavation of certain parts of the site for the open air display of trenches and objects currently buried underground will be carried out anywhere needed.
Kishan added that repairing the wall boundaries and construction of public facilities such as toilets, drinking water kiosks, solar powered lights, illumination, souvenir shops, cafeterias, audio-visual guides, public display boards, information boards and lines with tourist circulation being carried out in Adichanallur ,
