MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government hadn’t ceased its attempts to offer quota into the Maratha community,” main minister Uddhav Thackeray advised MP Sambhaji Chhatrapati on Friday.
The Rajya Sabha member in the BJP satisfied Thackeray to explore the matter in the wake of the Supreme Court’s judgment on May 5 that quashed the Declaration to the Marathas in administration projects and schooling.
“The talks were positive and Thackeray made it very clear that (asserting ) justice into the community had been that the stand of the authorities and all attempts are being made in the way,” PWD Union Ashok Chavan, that had been present in the assembly, tweeted.
Chavan, who heads a cupboard sub-committee about the Maratha quota problem, further said that the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government hasn’t given up the attempts to make sure that the statute is revived.
The quota law has been commissioned under a BJP government, however the saffron party isn’t attempting to get anything to revive it and just threatening to start the Congress leader explained.
“The gap between the 2 approaches is extremely obvious.
We could still work together.
Let us see who’s real,” he added.
The state administration has established an eight-member committee led by retired high court judge Dilip Bhosale to reconcile the Supreme Court conclusion.
It’s expected to publish its report by May 31.
