Pune: From the counseling of pregnant women who seek antenatal care to dedicate special days to inoculation, district and civil administration has increased efforts to overcome the doubts of Covid-19 vaccine among pregnant women.
Pregnant women who develop Covid-19 are more likely to require intensive care than their non-pregnant colleagues, experts say.
“We have asked our health staff to advise a registered pregnant woman for antenatal care at the maternity home managed by PMC and private about taking the Covid vaccine.
The response from them so far is very low.
We also urge the corporator to do a little to increase awareness,” Vaishali said Jadhav, head of the Covid PMC vaccination program.
In the rural part of Pune, Zilla Parishad began to vaccinate pregnant women from Friday.
“We vaccassed 31 pregnant women in 17 blocks in the district on Friday.
Prohibited Daund and Amebgaon, the response was very low in another block,” said Ayush Prasad, CEO Pune ZP.

Sachin Edke District Immunization Officer said special online training sessions for health staff working at the Primary Health Center have been made to introduce them to encouragement.
“We have directed the head of the primary health center to hold counseling sessions on vaccination for pregnant women at the village level,” Edke said.
Harish Lohar, Wade Bohlai PHON is responsible, saying they cannot vaccinate for pregnant women in their limits because of the unavailability of doses.
“But we have deactivated such a comprehensive vaccination plan.
We aim to cover at least 20 pregnant women every day,” he said.
Salve Pavan, the head of additional health, PCMC, said they are currently focusing on creating awareness.
