Bhubaneswar: Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik has been the latest target of ‘egg attack’ by BJP opposition, which has thrown eggs on vehicles of several ministers in the past few days, demanding the destruction of the Minister of State, Shankar Mishra for the alleged link with Gobinda Sahu.
Sahu is an accused of Mamita Meer Murder Case.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) member threw eggs on Naveen convoys near Darjipokhari Chhak in Puri on Wednesday.
Naveen was in the castle to attend the Stone Foundation plate ceremony from the Ambitious Shree Jagannath Parikrama project.
Egg attacks occurred while Naveen returned to Bhubaneswar after attending the castle.
Violating strict security, BJYM workers threw eggs in Naveen’s vehicle, leaving the police shy.
The eggs hit the windshield of Naveen SUV.
“The egg was thrown by us.
Black flag was also released by us.
Wherever CM is running, BJP Yuva Morcha will oppose.
If the Minister of Shankar Mishra is not overthrown, the protest will continue like this,” said President Odisha BJP Yuva Morcha Irasis Acharya.
The police have arrested several BJYM members for throwing eggs at CM Cavalcade.
It was last in 2018 when Naveen was attacked with eggs in Balasore.
A woman was arrested on January 31, 2018 for allegedly throwing eggs at the ministerial head when she was overcoming a public meeting in Talsari in the Bhograi block from Ballasore District.
After a few days, Naveen asked the police to drop all charges against the woman.
