Karachi: Chairman of the Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani on Thursday dropped from the post after completing his three-year term.
A PCB official confirmed that Mani was no longer the chairman of the Board when his tenure ended on August 25.
“We cannot provide further comments on this issue because the notification for the election of the new leader will be issued by the Prime Minister.
Home,” he said.
Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently a patron in the head of the council and will now nominate two people to the PCB Board of Governors (BOG) and one of them will be chosen as a new chairman.
Rumors circulated circulating that former Pakistani test captain Ramiz Raja would take over as a new chairman of the council.
Both Mani and Ramiz have held a meeting with PM this week but it is still unclear whether Khan will nominate Ramiz in the swamp.
Ramiz told the cricket website that he had submitted a blueprint for the restructuring of Pakistan’s cricket to PM when he was called for a meeting.
“Pakistani cricket requires a new direction because our ranking in the three formats shows our cricket does not increase when the prime minister wants,” he said.
The mani confirmed to the Geo news channel that he had dropped to continue as chairman of the council.
