Nagpur: The rain has brought a break in front of the farm throughout Vidarbha.
Almost a dry mantra a week after sowing has a risk of plants.
Less rain has slowed sowing in the Amravati division, which includes West Vidarbha.
Here sowing has been done in just 75% of the agricultural area.
In the Nagpur Division, which includes the eastern part, rice transplants in almost 80% of the regions cannot occur due to gaps on rain.
Sowing cotton and soybeans is completed at 95% of the area but the dry mantra has caused risk.
Senior Department of Agriculture officials in the two divisions said Thursday’s rain would help farmers in large treatments continue for 15 more days.
There are several bags in the Amravati division where the rainfall is low, and may need a few days from additional rain.
However, the overall situation has subsided and there is no direct threat now, said a source.
