Kathmandu: The passenger vehicle carrying a newly married couple and several wedding officers slipped from a hilly path in West Nepal on Saturday, killing eight people and injuring five others, police said.
The accident occurred in the country of Pyutan in the country when Jeep was bound to libang from the rural city of Gaumukhi from the lungs Naubi Rural Municipality brought the couple and their wedding clerks slipped and fell 150 meters on the road.
“At least eight people died and five others suffered an injury in the accident,” said a senior police officer.
Six people died in place and two others died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
“Five people including the bride were injured in the incident,” the official said.
Similar accidents are common in Western Nepal during winter due to thick fog and slippery streets.
Last year in November, a passenger bus slipped from the road in West Nepal, killing at least 12 people and injuring almost 20.
