Bahraich: Eight police personnel were injured when a group of men pelted them with stones at Bahraich Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday night when police personnel went to a busy road area to rescue chemists Manoj Sharma, who was attacked by several competition by the defendant.
The police have arrested three accused, including two brothers, for the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, Mohit Shukla attacked a chemist Manoj Sharma with a severe object on some competition when he closed his shop, causing a head injury and hands.
The attacker, assisted by his father, a brother and the other one also created a commotion in the store.
Information, the police reached the place but they were attacked by the defendant.
SP Sujata Singh said two sub-inspectors and six policemen were injured in the incident and were treated in the district hospital.
Two fir has been submitted, one by chemists and the other by Ashok Kumar Jaiswal’s sub-inspector against four people, three of them have been arrested, SP added.
