Chandigarh: Chief of Punjab Minister Charanjit Singh Channi Brother Manohar Singh, who observed the congressional ticket from the seat of the Council Bassi Pathana, on Sunday said he would compete as independent of the electoral district after the ruling party translated the legislator who was sitting.
In the first list of 86 candidates, Congress on Saturday gave a ticket to the Mla Gurpreet Singh GP party from the Bass Pathana chair (SC).
Manohar Singh dubbed the Congress decision that gave a ticket to Gurpreet Singh GP as “injustice” with the communication of constituencies and accused the legislator sitting “ineffective and ineffective.” “Some leading people of Bassi Pathana have asked me to fight as independently and I will go with what they say.
There is no chance to return and I will definitely fight the poll,” Manohar Singh told PTI by telephone.
Singh in August last year resigned as a senior medical officer from Kharar’s civil hospital.
Singh has done MBBS and MD.
He also holds a postgraduate degree in journalism and also studied the law.
He said he made a decision to fight as independent after meeting several council members, Sarpanch and Panch villages who asked him to fight polls.
“People told me that it was wrong to give a ticket to him (Gurpreet Singh GP).
He hadn’t done anything before and now he returned foisted,” Singh said.
Singh said he would talk to his brother Channi and convinced him about his decision.
In the formula ‘One Family-One Ticket’ Congress Formula for future polls upcoming, Channi said the party deployed Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, who is the son of Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary, from Philaur seats.
Likewise, MP Sahib Fatehgarh Amar Singh Kamil Amar Singh has been given a ticket from the Raikot chair, he said.
Last year, the Head of the Punjab Congress Navjot Singh Sidhu had inaugurated the position of Gurpeet Singh GP in Bass Pathana Constitution.
Voting for the assembly chair 117 Punjab will be held on February 14 and the vote count will take place on March 10.
