Lucknow: The Election Commission has postponed the biennial election to 36 seats in the Legislative Council at Uttar Pradesh until April 9 because of the election of the state.
Elections scattered in 35 selection of local authorities are scheduled for March 3 and 7.
There will be voting for one day now and the results on April 12.
The schedule was tweaked after the political party was looking for time for the legislative council poll because the previous date coincided with the election of seven phase assembly from February 10 to March 7.
The sound will be calculated on March 10 counting scheduled for March 12.
