Elephant attack department of forest department

Coimbatore: A driver of the Department of Forest was injured after a wild elephant attacked him near Chartpost Falls Vaithi on Monday night.
He suffered a severe injury in both legs and was treated at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital.
Driver, Vijayakumar, 54, from Vadivelampalayam near Alandurai, worked on a contract with the Eko tourism center in Kovai Courtallam.
He was attached to the range of Boluvampatti forests.
The forest department official said Vijayakumar departed from work on Monday.
However, he had gone to a checkpost located on the road to Vaidhi waterfall near Narasipuram.
Around 9:30 p.m., the frontline staff of the Ministry of Forestry chases a male elephant from a human residence to the reserve forest area.
When Tusker crossed the checkpost area, it attacked the driver.
He was saved by tribal people and taken to GH.
Officials say that Vijayakumar is stable.
