Coimbatore: A 40-year-old farmer was seriously injured after a wild elephant, which he tried to chase from his farm by putting out firecrackers, attacking him in Boluvampatti here on Friday night.
He underwent treatment at a private hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.
A forest officer identified the victim as Palanisamy, a resident of Sappanimadai near Madvarayapuram.
“He has kept bananas on his farmland in Boluvampatti.
