Elephant destroys banana trees

Erode: A single wolf ruined over 100 banana trees around Kermalam in the Sathyamangalam tiger book (STR) at the wee hours of Sunday.The farm that the elephant raided belong to S Venkatesh of all Sujilkarai hamlet.
The farmer, who’d lost harvest value more than 1 per cent 1 lakh, sought reimbursement in the woods department.Venkatesh had summoned banana trees over three acres.
“I had been sleeping in my home once the elephant raided the trees across 3am,” he said.The ruined standing banana trees were all ready for harvest in a few of days.Forest officials seen the property and scrutinized the ruined banana trees.
“We’ll submit our report on the authorities and depending on the report the authorities would trouble damages,” a forest official said.
