Guwahati: A 45-year-old woman was killed in an elephant attack in the Hojai Assam district.
This is a second incident like that in a week in the state.
The woman, who was identified as Chinu Debnath, was attacked by an elephant when he was doing household duties in Derapathar Village in the Polbe Station leg area on Thursday.
He died in that place, a forest official said.
His body was sent to a Nagaon civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
Last Saturday, a wild elephant had trampled a 21-year-old woman, Jyoti Tanti, to death in Bahbariline at Morongi tea estate in Golaghat.
