CHENNAI: The Hindu religious and charitable endowments (HR & CE) department on Saturday conducted RT-PCR tests for staff of temples in Chennai.
Places of worship in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and Tiruvallur districts will open for devotees on Monday following lockdown relaxations.
The department, with the help of the Greater Chennai Corporation, conducted the test for around 500 employees of the temples in the Chennai zone.
Minister P K Sekar Babu inaugurated the vaccination camp at a marriage hall on the Perambur Barracks Road.
“District collectors of Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur will organise similar camps in their respective districts,” said commissioner of HR and CE J Kumarakurubaran.
