Nagpur: Empress van, which is one of the largest green patches in Central Nagpur, is likely to be fully destroyed.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), which has cut 365 large trees to build a road through the layout of the Maharashtra State Textile Corporation (MSTC), has now proposed a park on land 13,122 SQ M while a private company has planned a commercial business on a large plot.
There are a large number of trees on this vacant land.
365 trees are cut even when MSTC has not provided funds for road construction.
The Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari and Central Nagpur Mla Vikas Kumbhare on Saturday performed Bhoomi Puja for the construction of a compound wall for the proposed garden.
“I have planned Vande Mataram Park in the open space layout that will be dedicated to defense personnel.
Murals from PARAM VIR Chakra Recipients will be made in the park, followed by various infrastructure related to the defense sector work.
Park has been planned to mark the 75th Independence Day , “he said.
The MSTC layout consists of an open space of 9,841 SQ M and the Public Utility (PU) of land 3.281 SQ M, with a total of 13,122 sq.
M.
The park has been proposed in open space and PU land.
The design for park is being prepared, said Tiwari and added that efforts will accommodate as many trees as possible in the project.
“Some trees tend to be cut down, but it will be known only after the design is ready,” he said.
The same layout has 380 trees in the part of which the road width is 12 meters approved.
NMC proposed to build 15 meters of road.
According to the norm, the road should be developed after receiving funds from MSTC.
MSTC has not provided funds, it is still a Civic process that completes the tender process in 2019 and the tree authority gives permission to cut 365 trees.
Then visit the area and find that NMC has cut it down 365 trees and clean room for road construction.
It was done immediately after obtaining approval from the Tree Authority in January, according to NMC officials.
In the layout area towards the Rajwada Palace, some large trees have been cut and some work has begun.
The word NMC will build the road every time MSTC will provide funds.
“We continually pursue problems with MSTC.
We have also made the provisions of funds in the budget that will be used if MSTC refuses to provide funds.
The road is needed for the convenience of the passengers,” he said.
Part of the proposed road must be built for the development of the garden, followed by a route approach.
MSTC has auctioned plot no.
1, 2 and 8 layout a few years ago to the Royal Sandesh Business Park LLP, Garment Park of Orange City and Acharya Shree Vidyasagar, each community of Welfare Vyapari.
All of these plots are very large and consist of a large number of trees.
According to the mayor, two companies have implemented the state government to change users from existing industries to commercial.
“The government has asked NMC to install proposals,” he said.
The company has purchased plots and proposes to develop commercial complexes.
