Kolkata: Awares Bandyopadhyay, Head of the Ministry of Chief’s Adviser, and Chair of the Heritage Commission of Suvaprasna, on Tuesday argues for Heritage-TDR (transfer of development rights) to save the inheritance built by the city.
TDR will allow the owner of the inheritance property to monetize the value of the building without destroying it for the development of real estate.
Bandyopadhyay, who spoke with a symposium on heritage conservation built in the city in the Chamber of Commerce and Merchants Industry (MCCI), said, “If the Design of Warisan-TDR can be formulated consistently among all stakeholders, including property owners, developers, inheritance activists, Architects, city planners, historians and legal experts, the government can process the draft law after heating it.
“Suvaprasanna was looking for a greater public awareness to convince her inheritance property owners to accept TDR.
He highlighted the challenge with TDR, while underlining his significance.
