Lucknow: Ending the Internal Battle, the All-India Chess Federation and the Chess Breakaway Association in India on Saturday announced that they had joined one single entity to manage sports in the country.
President AICF Sanjay Kapoor said that the factions were outstanding, not only at the national level but also in various countries, it has now gathered under the umbrella federation.
“I personally have several rounds of talks with all stakeholders and have brought everyone on the same platform for the development of chess and all chess players in this country,” Kapoor said as quoted in a press release.
“Like other federation, we also struggle to arrange our annual event and championship because of covid pandemics and unable to let our internal differences foil the sports even more,” he added.
Secretary AICF Bharat Singh Chauhan, “As we form a new body, one of our first goals is to overcome all the worries of each member and bring everyone together for sports.” Apart from the argumat at the national level, chess has suffered greatly in Uttar Pradesh too, with two different bodies – a-up chess association and up chess sports association – in the loggerheads in the state.
“This has become a long-term feud and when I myself from Kanpur, I believe it is my duty to solve this problem in priority.
Today, I am happy to announce that the two groups are here,” Kapoor said.
