Chennai: TT Jagannathan, TTK Prestige Chair, has contributed Rs 10 Crore to IIT-Madras to build endowmen, which will be used for further research purposes at the Institute.
Flowers from endowmen will be used to support the pursuit of new research by IIT-Madras students and faculty.
As an alumnus of Iit-Madras, Jagannathan was part of the batch of 1970, and was awarded a gold medal from IIT-M for the best academic performance in the field of engineering.
In recognition of his achievement and to commemorate his contribution to the business world, IIT-Madras said that the auditorium was being named after business people.
The auditorium was inaugurated on Friday by Jagannathan in front of Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director of Iit Madras, and other officials.
“I have the highest award for my alma mater, where I enjoy a lot of useful years.
IIT Madras has set a reputation as a center for research and innovation.
I like to contribute small ways to help IIT Madras to continue the research pursuit,” Jagannathan said.
