NEW DELHI: Currently since non-ISI two-wheeler helmets have become prohibited from June 1, law enforcement agencies such as the authorities and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) have to measure its authorities, street safety and injury care specialists said.

Former DGP and also chairman of Road Safety Authority at Telangana, T Krishna Prasad explained the BIS must also set the list of goods which have the certificate in public domain so people are advised when purchasing the products and the government ought to guarantee their adequate accessibility.

Prasad said there must be no tolerance against non-wearing of helmets along with these criminals have to be contested.
“The government must make sure that there’s not any black advertising of ISI-mark helmets on the industry.
1 month time could be offered to users to follow the required wearing of ISI-marked helmets contemplating that in many countries helmet stores aren’t open due to lockdown,” he further added.
