Day engineers in India are celebrated every year on September 15 by the engineer community.
The day of engineer in India was celebrated to appreciate the contribution and to pay tribute to the winner of Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya which is one of the largest Indian engineers.
His birthday, September 15, was celebrated as an engineer day not only in India, but also in Sri Lanka and Tanzania, in his memory.
Visvesvaraya was born on September 15, 1861, to the Telugu family in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka.
His parents are famous Sanskrit scholars.
He studied the Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Madras University and pursued civil engineering at the College of Science in Pune.
He continued to be the most respected Indian civil engineer, Bend Builder, economist, and was still considered one of the leading visionaries of this century.
He was not just one of the biggest Indian civil engineers but also served as Diwan 19 of Mysore, from 1912 to 1919.
He also played an important role in the establishment of government engineering universities in Bangalore in 1917, one of the first engineering institutions in India.
The agency was later named University Vesvaraya College of Engineering.

Among its great contributions is the installation of irrigation systems with water at the Khadakvasla reservoir near Pune, which raises the level of supply of food and storage to the highest level.
The same thing was then installed in Gwalior Tigra Dam and Dam Krishnaraja Sagara MySuru (KRS), the latter created one of the largest reservoirs in Asia at that time.
He received the highest honor of India, Bharat Ratna, in 1955.
This leading engineer died in 1962, leaving the world with his favorite contribution.
