PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reported that maintenance of rural roads constructed under the rural functions division (RWD) ought to be carried out by the departmental engineers, rather than by builders.
“Road upkeep by Trained engineers will result in a reduction in the cost and improve the standard of maintenance job.

The CM further requested the RWD engineers to stay constant vigil on the streets which had been given to contractors over the conditions of last-minute care warranty.
He explained the division’s senior engineers and officials must inspect these streets on a regular basis so there wouldn’t be no uncertainty in maintenance of those streets from the concerned contractors.
The RWD Union Jayant Raj, the division’s Secretary Pankaj Kumar Palalong with other senior officers and engineers were closely linked to the CM via video conferencing through the review interview.
Nitish also stated that the prestige of this RWD engineers could increase in the society should they implement the street maintenance functions in a dedicated way.
“We all would be glad and could have a feeling of self-satisfaction when the streets in rural regions are appropriately preserved,” he explained.
He asked the RWD engineers and officials to finish as soon as possible each of the rest functions under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), also the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sampark Yojana (MMGSY) along with the Grameen Tola Sampark Nischay Yojana (GTSNY).
The CM also requested the engineers to fix the system roads of all of the new bridges that were constructed underneath the Mukhya Mantri Setu Nirman Yojana (MMSNY).
In addition, he called for routine review, monitoring and upkeep of the previous streets constructed under the MMSNY.
Offering focus on maintenance of quality in the building of streets, the CM further requested the RWD engineers to operate in a planned fashion of growth and extending of the metropolitan streets.
Before the RWD secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal created a comprehensive presentation on the present position of care work of these rural streets and functions done under various methods of this section.
