Dubai: The British Ministry of Defense said that an Israeli merchant ship was targeted in the attack reported from Oman in the Arabian Sea.
The Ministry of Defense said in Friday’s statement was still investigating the attacks reported.
A brief statement on the early Friday of the British Maritime Trade Operation said the investigation was taking place into the incident, which was described as a Thursday night in the northeast of Masirah Island Oman.
Oman did not immediately admit the attack.
The 5th fleet of the US Navy, who patrolled in the Middle East, did not immediately respond to a comment request.
The incident occurred in the midst of increasing tensions on Iran’s tattered nuclear agreement and as negotiations to restore the agreement had stopped in Vienna.
Since then – President Donald Trump unilaterally attracts America from the agreement in 2018, there has been a series of ship attacks in the region allegedly done by Tehran.
