England to relieve immigration rules for care workers as a shortage of deterioration

Foreign social care workers, care assistants and home care workers, including from India, will soon be eligible for the UK Health and Care Visa for a 12-month period as part of the temporary steps to meet the shortcomings in the sector.
The British government said on Friday that thousands of additional care workers can be recruited to improve adult social care workers after temporary changes in the scheme, which will make it faster, cheaper and easier for social care entrepreneurs to recruit workers who are qualified to fill Vital gaps to fill vital gaps.

“The care sector is experiencing unprecedented challenges driven by the pandemic and the changes we make on the health and care visas will increase the workforce and help alleviate some pressure which is currently being experienced,” said Priti Patel’s house secretary.
“This is our new plan for action, giving us our commitment to support the NHS and the health sector and wider care by making it easier for health professionals to live and work in the UK,” he said.
Changes to follow the recommendations of the British Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) to make care workers and caregivers qualify for health and care visas and add jobs to the list of disadvantages (Sol).
The inclusion in Sol sets a minimum annual salary of £ 20,480 for caregivers to qualify for health and care visas.
The government said the Covid pandemic has highlighted various shortcomings of staff in the social care sector, placing pressure on existing workers.
The temporary steps announced this week is expected to take effect early next year and there will be a minimum of 12 months, providing an increase in staffing while this sector is related to additional pressure pandemic and will be reviewed after the minimum period.

“It is very important that we continue to do everything we can to protect the social care sector during the pandemic and its surroundings,” said Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
