LONDON: Starting Monday, England will remove seven remaining countries from the red list of Covid-19 tire trips, which will be reviewed every three weeks and revised in the case of the threat of the Covid variant that emerged, the British government has announced.
From 4am, Monday, the remaining seven goals in the red list of Covid-19 travel prohibits in the UK – Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru and Venezuela – will be removed, said in the update on Thursday.
The red list itself has not been deleted and will be reviewed every three weeks, with the limits imposed if there is a threat of a Covid variant that appears.
The Transportation Department (DFT) said that Delta is now the dominant Covid variant in most countries around the world, which means that the risk of variants known to enter the UK has been reduced.
“This is another step in the right direction for international travel with more good news today for passengers, businesses, and travel sectors,” said British Transportation Secretary Grant Shapps.
“Does it reunite family members or make it easier for business to trade, the success of vaccine launches both at home and abroad has enabled us to reach this milestone.
However, we should not be complacent and remain ready to act and maintain a gain.
We are hard if necessary, “he said.
The travel regulations between India and Britain for passengers who are fully vaccinated have declined earlier this month, with Indians who are vaccinated by Covispield not required to undergo self-isolation at the address stated in entering England.
Tourists who come from the Red List List continue to be a 10-day quarantine target for a government-approved facility.
The latest update means tourists who are vaccinated with a recognized vaccine in the UK will face similar international travel rules.
“The red and quarantine list remains very important in protecting our borders – we store a small amount of quarantine room at Standby and will not hesitate to take fast action by adding the country to the red list if the risk increases again,” said the UK Health Secretary.
Javid Sajid.
DFT said the government scientists would continue to monitor carefully the variant of the concern to ensure the English approach to remain “proportional”, supervision through routine testing continues throughout.
Meanwhile, under effective rules since October 24, tourists who are fully vaccinated back to England from countries that are not on the Red Tire Travel List – including India – can use a negative lateral flow test (LFT) rather than a more expensive polymerase chain reaction ( PCR) test.
All tourists must complete the compulsory passenger locator form before traveling, including providing a test booking reference number supplied by the testing provider.
Passengers who are not fully vaccinated with the official vaccine must continue to take the PCR test on day 2 and day 8 tests and resolve self isolation 10 days when entering England.
Appeared when England recorded 39,842 cases of Coronavirus on Thursday, reflecting a downward trend over the past few days after passing 50,000 cases everyday last week.
