Jerusalem: England will forbid the Palestinian militant group Hamas as a terrorist organization, the Interior Ministry who said on Friday, a step that would bring his position to Gaza rulers in line with the United States and the European Union.
The organization will be banned under the Terrorism Law and that anyone expresses support for Hamas, which raises its flag or arranging a meeting for the organization will violate the law, according to a report in the Guardian newspaper, the ministry said it was accurate.
The Times newspaper said the Minister of Home Affairs Priti Patel will announce a step in Washington and convey it to the parliament next week.
Until now, England has banned only the Hamas military wing – Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam.
Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett welcomed a report from the decision.
In a twitter post he said “Hamas is a terrorist organization, just placing The ‘Political Arm’ allows the same military activities of the same terrorists – …
only in suit.” A Hamas official in Gaza said he would wait until the official announcement from England before issuing a response.
Hamas is a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Founded in 1987, it opposed the existence of Israel, and opposed the peace talks, instead of encouraging “armed resistance” against Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories.
The latest outbreak of violence is a 11-day conflict in May, where Palestinian officials said 250 people were killed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza, including 66 children.
Israeli officials said 13 people, including two children, were killed in Israel by militant rockets.
The ‘Relationship of Strengthening’ Interior Minister Patel was forced to resign as England’s international development secretary in 2017 after he failed to reveal a meeting with senior Israeli officials during a personal vacation to the country.
He met the past-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his predecessor Bennett, and the leader later-opposition Yair Lapid.
Lapid, now Israeli Foreign Minister, praised the expected decision on Hamas as “part of strengthening relations with England.” Israel and the United States consider Hamas to be a terrorist organization.
This is in the list of familiar terrorist organizations designated.
The European Union also looked at the terrorist movement.
Based in Gaza, Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian parliamentary election, defeating the Nationalist Fatah.
Things to master the Gaza military the following year.
