With a process that is being carried out to choose Deputy Chancellor New (VC) for Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU), the Save MKU coalition has appealed to members of the Committee looking for MKU VC and Chancellor who tried to ensure transparency in the selection.
According to the statement from R Murali, Secretary, saved the coalition of MKU and its members, observed that it had come to their knowledge that the names of the ten professors had been selected to post MKU VC by the search committee.
“The method followed to hold, candidates must be disclosed to the public to avoid suspicion about the selection process.
We also appeal that the authorities must ensure that there is no political or money or other forces affecting the selection,” they said.
On December 31, a list of names and affiliates 136 applicants who have registered for post MKU VC uploaded on the official university website at www.mukuniversity.ac.in by the search committee.
Of the 136 applicants, now ten candidates are chosen to advance to the next step of the selection process.
Save MKU Coalition also looked for honest VCs who qualified academically to be appointed to head the university, which is one of the oldest in Tamil Nadu.
“We also begged the authorities to publish signs given to selected members on the website together with the assessment category.
This transparency will help the university rise from obstacles and grow,” he added.
