While many organizations including the control council for crickets in India (BCCI) have expressed cash awards for the Hockey team, individually, this is the largest cash prize that has been announced for Sreejesh, a press release from VPS Healthcare said.

Vayalil also personally called the goalkeeper and congratulated him over his exemplary show.
Sreejesh thanked him for his message and attitude of the reward.
He said he was overwhelmed and was surprised by the prize.

Entering the Junior National Hockey team in the early 2000s, he worked hard to make a way to the national team.
A Padma Shri Awardee, he also served as captain of the national team in 2016 and led India to the quarter-finals of the Rio Olympics.
His rapid reflexes and consistent performance have made him become a ‘Indian Great Wall’ Moniker.
