Mangaluru: V Ravichandran, Founder and Director of GlowTouch Technology and Diya System, died on Friday at Louisville, Kentucky, USA, struggling with brain cancer for three years.
He is 74 years old.
He survived his wife, a daughter and a son.
He began his career as a professor in St.
Philomena’s College, Pusture in 1970 and retired in 1999.
After his retirement, he ventured in entrepreneurship.
The company is one of the biggest IT companies located in Mangaluru, currently employing more than 2,300 professionals.
Ravichandran started the Diya system in 2003 to provide services especially in the BPO room.
In 2004, he began GlowTouch technology to focus on software development services for US clients and the middle market.
The company is headquartered in Louisville, we have branch offices in the Dominican Republic, the Philippines and in India with offices located in Bengaluru, MySuru and Mangaluru.
The company provides special application development services, consulting in place, call center, BPO and infrastructure services.
With the intention to serve those who are disadvantaged, providing employment opportunities, especially to Mangalureans, he started the GT Foundation in 2004.
As part of the GT Foundation philanthropic effort, the Foundation in December 2012 began Annadaana in Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, located in Kavoor and Cars .

About 1,500 to 2,000 worshipers provided free food every Thursday and Sunday at Kavoor and on Thursday at Car Street.
He was also associated with the Akshaya Patra Foundation in providing a midday eating program to 50,000 school children and udupi districts every day.

In 2018, he rebuilt Sri Teacher Raghavendra Mutt, under the Aegis of GT Foundation and with the Association with Sri Ramanjaneya Trust, at a cost of Rs 3.5 Crore.
Ravichandran accepts his BSC from St.
Aloysius College and MSc in botany from the University of Karnatak with a gold medal.
He received a PhD through a joint program between the University of Bangalore and Clemson University in South Carolina.
He was also the recipient of the Udyog Rattan award for extraordinary contributions to the country’s economic development, regardless of several others.
