Coimbatore: A 46-year-old businessman was tricked by Rs 1.5 lakh by two people here on Saturday.
Police Saravanampatti said entrepreneurs, G Sukumar, 46, from Thoppampatti, running the company in Ganapati.
“Sukumar received a telephone call from a man, who introduced himself as Vicky.
He said he was an employee of a private financial company and would lend him Rs 10 Lakh without documentation.
Trust him, Sukumar decided to get a loan,” said a police officer.
“On Saturday, the person was named Sukumar and told him that the loan was ready and Sukumar had to pay Rs 1.5 lakh as processing fees.
He also told him to bring the money to Kalatti Road, where other callers and men received money from Sukumar and hand the bag work, “the officer said.
When Sukumar returned to his office, he opened a work bag and found a fake item from a currency note, the officer said.
